HI Herman,
Looks like you have the answer already. You will have to turn off VPN. -
Hi Mark, why did it work before and why is the widget still working with the VPN switched on

In ProtonVPN app, in advanced settings there's an option to enable LAN-connections which allows you to connect to devices on your local network while being connected through VPN. Not sure (I can't check this) if this option is available on iOS though, but it should be according to info from Proton.

iOS and iPadOS
Open the Proton VPN app and go to ⚙ Settings → Connection → Allow LAN connections and toggle the switch on (or off).

I just checked on my Android phone, when I enable this setting in ProtonVPN, I can connect to my Blusound player.
When I disable it (default setting = disabled), BluOS can't find my Bluesound player. Which makes sense since all the traffic is routed through the VPN tunnel so it's not exactly on the same network as your player anymore.
If this doesn't work you can also try the "Split Tunneling" option in Proton and exclude BluOS app from being routed through VPN.

Thanks for all the work. The “allow LAN connection” option doesn’t solve the problem. So I will look at split tunneling and contact Proton for the first option. Thanks again and regards, Herman

Problem solved !!! Even with The switch “allow LAN connection” on the problems persists, but there is another switch “allow alternatieve routing”. When this switch is turned off everyrhing workes well. Thanks for your help and kind regards, Herman
