Library dissapears every single day

Have just about had it with attaching a library of about 6500 songs played via my Apple M1.

There is a Music folder inside iTunes Music where the actual files are arranged by artists. I create a path to this: no luck. Told by support that I should move the collection into the iTunes Music folder, I've moved two artists & songs to test and the system does not find them.

Doing that, however, retored the Library in the lower Music folder yesterday.  Today, again, nothing. Checking the path, I treturn to the main BluOS display and My Library is gone. Again. And the Tidal connection is lost. Again.

I have wasted (literally) days of work time trying to get my collections rolling. Should mention: the Pulse II is connected via ethernet.

Any ideas?

  Hi John, another user here and one who has been in the Apple camp for many years.

  To be honest sharing music from iTunes or Music as it’s now called using newer MacOS versions is painful. Music / iTunes also does not store album artwork in a standard that than be used outside of Music / iTunes.

  Personally I moved my music (many years ago) to a separate folder and for Bluesound onto a NAS. Alternatively you might have a Router with a USB port that can act as a NAS or just use a low power (Think big memory stick) and plug it directly into a Bluesound player. I have a 512Gb thumb driven that just about holds all my music in FLAC format that can be used when my NAS dies.

  Using a Mac as a server / NAS does mean that it needs to be on 24/7 and the IP address and its network name must not change. Setting a reserved IP is fundamental to save your sanity if you want to stick to Sharing your music with a Mac.

  Perhaps you have a memory stick handy? Copy just an album or two onto it and plug it into the Pulse. Link below about getting it going…

  Thanks, Seppi, I appreciate the response. I definitely have some learning and trial work ahead (researching what an NAS is the relationship between mp3s and Flac (?!) now--that's an indicator of my status as a novice ;-) 

  I'll do some testing with a memory stick. There is a router that I imagine has a USB port (will check when in that building). I suspect that the requirement to maintain the connection 24/7 puts that option out of the question— the M1 travels with me and the Pulse II is located in my art studio.
