Hi Jonas,
Regarding Chromecast, unfortunately, we are unable to include it in our current product lineup. You may want to check Amazon Alexa as an alternative for voice control solution.

Ok
I understand that you currently don’t include Chromecast support in your product lineup, but I’d like to raise a point. Many manufacturers, both large and small, have successfully implemented Chromecast Built-In in their products
Since Chromecast is a central part of many users’ ecosystems, it feels like an important feature that would significantly increase the value of your products. Is this due to a technical limitation, licensing issue, or a strategic decision?
And are there any plans to consider Chromecast support or other built-in voice solution primarily in the active speaker lineup in the future? For i plan to upgrade speakers in the house and built-in voice in primarily the kitchen is a must have feature for the system i chose.0 -
i use a workaround, with the bluesound soundbar and a chromecast in my tv. but you could use a hmdi to audio with the same results minus a powered on tv.
the soundbar is used to start a multiroom audio setup

it’s hard not to get a bit conspiratorial about this. But since Bluesound already supports AirPlay 2, which also enables multi‑brand multiroom, it feels strange that Google Cast is treated differently. Technically, Cast and AirPlay solve the same problem for different platforms to enable multiroom, so the lack of Cast support comes across as an intentional limitation rather than a technical one.

although i do think it would be great to have chromecast nativrly supported. i beleive it has also to do with the requirements of google why they dont want to include CC. they'd have to rewrite thenwhole system plus allow google intimate accesa to their hardware and code. also the changes google makes in the cc would mean we'd be updating the system weekly. if id knowni would have kept my original chromcast audio which i sold thebday i got the node.

No Jim, that’s not accurate. Google doesn’t have those kinds of requirements — Cast is “just” an SDK and a protocol layer, similar in principle to how AirPlay or Spotify Connect are integrated.
That’s why I was asking why Chromecast support won’t be implemented in BluOS. From a user’s perspective it seems like a strategic decision, not a technical limitation.
