ssd connection lost?

I have a new Node Icon (controlled via iphone) and I would like to play my files from an external SSD, which is connected via USB. I once managed to index the files, and then (in the music tab) I was able to see the library. But then I got a message that the music file is not accessible any more. And it was possible to reindex, even after restarting and reconnecting the SSD. How do I get access again to the SSD?
