No full output signal to the subwoofer!
BeantwortetI recently purchased a NAD 3050, and prior to buying it I reviewed the manual to ensure that the subwoofer output provided a full-range signal, which it clearly states.
Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case. In reality, both a low-pass and a high-pass filter are dictated through the BluOS app. The subwoofer cannot be used without setting a crossover point, which I find very unusual.
For decades, crossover management has been handled directly on the subwoofer itself, without DSP or mandatory low/high-pass filtering upstream. No one ever complained about that. Why does BluOS feel the need to dictate how users integrate their own subwoofers? At the very least, there should be an option to disable the crossover and high-pass filter entirely.
Reducing low-frequency content to the main speakers is also quite strange, especially given that bass accuracy is often superior on full-range speakers. In many systems, a subwoofer is intended only to supplement the very lowest frequencies.

Hi David,

Please revert this. The subwoofer should work anyway, switching it off when the crossover is deactivated was a bad idea. And this behavior happens over all Blusound products, on the NAD amps as well as on the Blusound products like my Powernode Edge. Even the M33V2 does this, so either use no sub or limit the floorstanding speakers. At the M33v2 you can use the PreOut, but why install two sub outs and then cripple the speakers.
I honestly hope this will be removed in a future update.0
