Couple Listening Mode with Source
BeantwortetAs a listener of music and watcher of movies with my bedroom Pulse Soundbar 2i, I'd like a different 'Listening Mode' for each input or source.
I'd like to be able to configure "Listening Mode" for HDMI/Optical to be set to 'Movie' while having sources: Library, TIDAL, Qobuz set to Music. I don't want to have to fiddle with this setting every time I change what I'm doing. As it stands, I generally listen to music with suboptimal settings rather than deal with the inconvenience. Or, due to this bug: Bluesound Bar falling back to 'TV' listening mode I end up listening to all sources with suboptimal settings.

I will pass this forward to our QA Team and BluOS Dev Lab for future consideration.

Been waiting three years for this.
I was hoping that it would be included in 4.0 but it’s not that I see. I have a blue sound stereo and a tv with a soundbar and if I could default them to movie and music that would be great.0 -
It's not that easy. We've had some good conversations on this and now that we are on an updated platform we can look at it better. It's a big request from our good friends down the hall as the NAD AV Receiver lineup sees it beyond a nice-to-have and not quite a must-have. We are still a ways out and have no timelines to share.

I’ll take it that it’s an effort to do but I would assume that a substantial number of users are watching movies in music mode (hint I know one very pretty one) and getting a substandard experience. Try taking them doughnuts.

I'm sure your significant other appreciates the call out... be sure to tell her that... and trust me, our developers already have plenty of Timmies.

I was just about to start a new thread with a very similar variation of this issue, so I thought I'd share it here.
Specifically, it's regarding the Powernode N331 running a centre speaker. When switching between TV and internet radio, it remembers the sound mode and will switch between, in this instance, TV mode with centre speaker, to music mode and two speakers respectively, which is what I'd expect.
However, when switching to Library music, the sound mode will not remember to switch to the last used setting (music). Instead, it sticks with whatever the last source was, much like the OP points out. i.e. if TV was the previous source, Library plays in TV mode, if radio was the last source, it plays in music mode. The fact that TV to radio works would seem to suggest there's been progress in the last five years, but still not perfect.
Any updates on this?
