Buzzing sound during playback

Hi,

I have installed a Vault 2i and a NAD C658 and they are connected and see each other through the Bluos app.  I am only using ripped cd music as my source in the Vault. I have ripped these cd's as AFAC files.  The C658 is connected to my receiver's cd analogue inputs using the C658's analogue pre-out connections using RCA connectors.

When I select a song for playback through the C658 that is stored in the Vault, I get an intermittent buzzing/crackling sound during the playback through the speakers.  It is inconsistent and variable.  Some songs play fine and others don't.  There is no consistency in the amount or the volume of the buzzing.  It comes and goes during playback and, as you can imagine, quite annoying.  

Is this something that is being caused during the ripping of the cd's, between the network connection between the Vault and the C658, or the output of the C658?

Please help.
