Can a Powernode 2i feed bluetooth to a pulse flex elsewhere on the network?
BeantwortetHi!
I am trying to understand how to make the system work for me! I would like to be able to stream a podcast or audiobook over bluetooth to the powernode 2i upstairs -- but not play it upstairs, rather, have that sound pushed to the pulse flex 2i in my son's bedroom downstairs. I can't push directly from my phone's bluetooth down to my son's room if I am upstairs - the distance is too great.
Now, if the answer is yes, the even more advanced part of the question is: can the powernode 2i feed the bluetooth sound down to the pulse flex 2i AND simultaneously play something different through the analogue speakers that are directly connected to it? (And what can that something different be? Does it have to be pushed through a different app, aka, not my phone if the phone is feeding the audiobook or podcast? And could I be playing something integrated in the bluesound system, like Tidal, while also pushing sound via bluetooth in the powernode upstairs to the downstairs speakers?)
Thank you for helping me understand!

Hi Yael
You cannot play one Player's Bluetooth or physically connected external equipment on a second Player directly. The Player must be the primary (first) member of a group to play on secondary grouped Players.
You will either have to have your handheld device within Bluetooth range of the PULSE FLEX 2i (which is about 10m give or take) and pair to that Player or you will have to listen to the POWERNODE grouped with the FLEX.
If your handheld device is an Apple iPad or iPhone, you can AirPlay to the PULSE FLEX 2i.

Thank you for this. I do have an older iPad that should be able to enable AirPlay. I have never used AirPlay before and I am following the directions from the Bluesound website but the AirPlay icon isn't appearing in my control panel, which I guess means that the Flex isn't being read by the iPad as networked. The Flex is connected with ethernet still, and I can control it fine with the blueOS app, so why isn't it visible to the iPad on the same internet system?

The older iPad must be on iOS 11.3 or higher to use AirPlay. Perhaps your older iPad may be too old.

It is on iOS 12.something.

Give your network router a reboot. Wait 10 minutes and try again. If the problem persists, check out www.apple.com/airplay for Apple Troubleshooting tips.
