Noise, noise, noise from Powernode2i. Hint: it's from your router.
BeantwortetI recently staged my Powernode2i (ethernet connection), Vault2i (ethernet connection) and my NetGear Nighthawk router (configured as my modem) on a small tabletop so as to consolidate things including all the cables. MISTAKE. After days of frustration trying diagnose the horrible noise from the left speaker (no noise at all with headphones) I visited my hi-fi shop and they suggested establishing some distance from the router. Bingo! A minimum of 3' is required to eliminate the noise out of the Powernode. Otherwise, experimenting, I placed the Powernode in various proximities to the router and, yes, generated noise in both R and L outputs. Terrible. I'm disappointed because I would expect audiophile components to provide shielding from this kind of thing. As it is, I'm forced to arrange things to isolate the Powernode from the router. A hassle. I understand Bluesound products are not shielded perhaps because they are receiving and transmitting wireless signals but when connected directly via ethernet such radio signals are not required and should be switched off.

So sorry to hear you are having this problem, Keith. The EMF you are hearing is not something we have come across before. You should probably speak with your router company and provider. We do need wireless still for Bluetooth connectivity - you can also try disabling Bluetooth in the settings of your Player. Wi-Fi is automatically disabled when you set up a wired connection.
