Hello all,
I'm sort of following up on a point Stefan made, but in specific did you check the Settings > Privacy > Local Network on your iOS device and, where the BluOS app is listed, set the switch beside it to ON/enabled (both OP and Hubertus)?
Alternatively to that, from the BluOS app on your Android device, please send a support request via Help > Send Support Request so our support crew may investigate further.
Regards,
Sam R. -
Hello,
looks like I have the same (at least similar) problem: on my iPhone and iPad, both running IOS 14.2, my Powernode 2 will not be found anymore. Using the Windows 10 app everything is fine.
What to do?
Best regards,
Hubertus

Did you both update directly from iOS13.xx to 14.20 so was it working for you with one of the last iOS / iPadOS 14.xx versions?
I am asking, because with 14.xx all apps need to get the right to scan and find other devices on the network. Normally you get asked the first time opening the app after update to 14.xx. But if you accidently denyed the access this could be the problem.
And/or do you use VLANs or routings in your network and do you have setup ipadress reservations in the network?
Since 14.xx the Apple devices support different MAC adresses for each WLAN. So maybe now the device uses an other MAC and got an other ipadress what causes the issue.

No, I updated my IOS devices from 13.xx to 14.0 to 14.1 to 14.2.
Yes, the IOS apps worked before IOS 14.2

The BluOS app are allowed to scan the local network,

No, I don’t use VLANs or ipadress reservations.

OK, thought this could be something going wrong :)
Sorry, no other ideas at the moment all working fine here with 3 different iPads and 11 Bluesound Players.
Ohh, but I am afraid you tryed that, reboot all Bluesound devices and all network devices and maybe switch off and after a short time on again WLAN at the apple device...

Can you access the webinterface with Safari browser, so put in ipadress of the powernode in Safari adresswindow?
WLAN was switched off and on, on iPad or the accesspoints? I would suggest to switch off all network hardware, so accesspoint(s), networkswitch and router. Wait around a minute and switch them on again.

Hello Stefan and Sam R.,
thanks for your suggestions.
Scanning local networks is switched ON on both IOS devices.
I have no Android device.
Accessing the Powernode via a Webbrowser works without any problem.
Best regrads,
Hubertus

OK so iPads can reach the PowerNode and it seems more a discovery issue from BluOS App to PowerNode.
Did you reboot all network hardware (accesspoints, switches and router) ?
Do you use WLAN or LAN at the PowerNode end? If WLAN, did you test a LAN connection for a short test?0 -
Hello Stefan,
sorry, misunderstanding on my site: I can access the powernode via Webbrowser on my desktop pc, but NOT on my iPad.
I'm using WLAN.
I rebooted every device.
Best regards,
Hubertus

Hubertus,
so if that’s the case, there is something wrong iPad > WLAN > PowerNode
So this is the situation?
- iPad of course WLAN
- PowerNode on WLAN- Desktop PC cable or WLAN ?

Hello Stefan,
Powernode2 connected via WLAN, Desktop PC is connect via cable
I rechecked the settings on my router (FRITZ!box 7490) and noticed that devices are not allowed to talk to each other on the network. I reenabled this setting, rebootet the router again: my iPad and iPhone are back on track: both see my Powernode2 :-)
Many thanks for your help and suggestions!
Very best regards,
Hubertus

That was what I was expacting, didn‘t point directly to that because you mentioned only the update of the iPads and no changes in the networksettings.
Great you‘re back and enjoy....
regards and stay healthy, Stefan
@Robert, please let us know if you still need help :)

I seem to have the same Problem although my BluOS app has been empty since the update to MacOS Version 14.2. I already checked if the settings explained here (https://support.bluos.net/hc/
en-us/article_attachments/ ) are still valid -> they are. I rebootet all relevant devices. My network is managed by Airport Extreme. Also:360000535587/BluOS_MacOS.pdf -
BluOS is allowed to scan local network
-
The app worked before 14.2 (I had to switch "allow app to scan local Network" on again after the update to 14.1).
-
No VLAN or ip address reservations
-
Both Node 2i and PC connected via ethernet
-
I can access Node 2i via browser (but I can't connect to the shared folder from there)
-
I don't understand what Hubertus meant with "re-enabled setting that network devices are allowed to talk to each other" so I could not check this
- I see the folder where my music is stored on my Macbook so sharing the folder seems to work

Hi Palestrina
the issue you are trying to troubleshoot is for macOS on MacBooks iMacs and the like. The issue you are describing has to do with iOS on iPads or iPhones.
On your iOS device, select the Settings App and scroll down to Apps, BluOS, and enable Local Network. This is a recent change Apple made in their settings that is preventing connectivity.
If the issue persists, please e-mail us at support@bluesound.com so our Support Crew can take a closer look.

Dear Tony,
Thank you for your answer. Actually, my first bullet point "BluOS is allowed to scan local Network" was trying to convey the message that I already checked this so this is not the solution. I will send an e-mail to your support team.
