Thank you for the rolling back 3.12.2 ! Our climate loves your vacation mode. A turn-off button would even be better. Hires fans are people who take themselves time ...

Hello.
The following blog does represent my opinion very clear:

HI there, I have also the same issue with BluOS 3.12.2 - I cant't turn off my node2i. That's very annoying. I am not care about "the player is designed to be always ready". I make the decision when the node2i is ready or not! When this problem will not solved I change to a other streamer in future. I hope the node3 will have physical on/off switch, back to working roots. Again, I will have the the decision when the node2i is ready or not!The 15 sec automatic standby never worked on my node2i since years. But the 5 sec Vacation Mode must come back very soon. Otherwise I sell my node2i and take more money and go to auralic or other.
Cheers - Benny

It is not true that there is so low energy consumption. The players are getting very warm after a few minutes and that means your players does not fullfill the european standards! You will loose your ce-licensing!
Please solve the problem with your software bug in my Pulse Flex 2i immediately. Otherwise i have to inform the EU-agency for CE-licensing. I have no other choice because i have a lot of bluesound players and i need the deep Standyby-function at all my equipment. That is additionally a question of fire protection.
With friendly regards!

Above triggers me to repeat the request for an overview of the powermodes + actual powerconsumption for all Bluesound products. As alternative I could measure it myself (I am an electronic engineer), but guess that won't be needed.

I agree this is quite confusing. I am unsure if my node 2i is in standby after 15 mins, the app always shows "sleep timer" as off (even after I manually set it). And after closing the app on my mobile (assuming this should prevent the music from continuing to stream) after launching the app some hours later, it still shows music playing, and my Ethernet router management tools still show the port consuming BW even after an hour since I closed the app. Would be very handy to have the LEDs go off, or at least change to yellow or something, to show it truly is in standby mode.

I have been measuring now a Node2 for many weeks. Can share details if required. I did see that in standby power consumption is around 2.5W, in active state around 3.5W. Switching from active to standby results in reduction from 3.5W to 2.5W after approx 15 mins.
Though above is what Bluesound indicates I think one should be able to design the device for lower power consumption. Why is standby as high as 2.5W and why is the 15 mins time needed to allow the Node2 to move to standby.

Hi Luc
15 minutes is an industry-standard audio timing for 12v triggers with amplifiers in custom integration. The 2.5W meets EU law for a network-aware device threshold of 3W - the power being consumed at this level is enough to keep the wired or wireless connection (whichever is active) awake to respond to network commands and wake from sleep without having to fully restart and renegotiate network operations.

Thanks for you reply Tony. Many in this thread confirm your answer, while bringing the discussion to raise the energy consumption specification to the table. Why not conforming aslo to EPA https://www.energystar.gov/products/electronics/audiovideo/key_product_criteria; which lists a 1W sleep mode power consumption limit, something quite common for TV-sets?

Thanks for the feedback Luc but Audio Streamers fall under different categories with the EPA than Televisions do, otherwise we wouldn't be able to market in the USA as we would have also been subject to that regulation. That being said I have forwarded your feedback along to our QA team for review.

I reread all the messages. Probably bluesound do not hear their customers. The n330 player is just great , I love it, but such a minor problem as standby mode without any visual confirmation is disappointing. I hope for the common sense of engineers .
