sorting artists in compilations or colaborations?

is there anyway to improve the labeling and sorting of individual artist? if a solo artist has a guest that has a cameo appearance on one song the entire album gets listed as an album by various artist instead of the solo artist whose album the song was performed on. is there anyway to fix this besides using a metadata program?

  Change your metatags in the actual files. ARTIST is who is performing, ALBUM ARTIST is who the album was released under. Then Rebuild your Index.
