Bluesound node 2i and oppo udp-205
BeantwortetHi, I have a node 2i and an oppo udp-205 preamplifier / dac. The problem is when using oppo optical or coax digi input oppo will show standard tidal cd quality music at 44.1khz and all other qualities at 44.8khz including MQA. Why doesn't that node give that higher sampling to its digital output? The technical data of both devices indicates the quality of the digital connections up to 24/192khz
I appreciate your answer ...

Hello Marko,
Potentially the songs you are playing have a bitrate of 44.1kHz. Even MQA songs will sometimes be at 44.1 (see almost any MQA-stamped song by The Smiths).
As a test, try playing the MQA TIDAL streams of David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust or Taylor Swift's cardigan and see what bitrate you're getting.
Additionally, are you getting this issue while playing with the Node connected via RCA Analog to your Oppo DAC?

That is, the node 2i recognizes the song quality cd, mqu or hr just right. But I would assume that if I use this node 2i as a mere streamer, I would also get better sampling at the oppon optical or coaxial digital input?
I appreciate your answer ...

If you use Digital out of the NODE (optical or COAX) you bypass the onboard 24/192 DAC of the NODE and no audio processing occurs. You will be limited however if you are listening to MQA to a single unfold of up to 24/96 playback unless you have an MQA External DAC. If you do, please enable MQA External DAC in the Audio settings of the NODE by selecting Settings, Player, Audio in the BluOS App.
