BT Halo 2 WiFi and BluOs - poor performance
BeantwortetI have a new Node 2i in the lounge. This is connected via optical link to a Brennan B2 input which has the music library on it. I also stream using Qobuz. The Node 2i is also connected out to the main hifi. This all works perfectly.
In the next room I have a Pulse Mini and I have tried many different ways to stream to that. It never works reliably for long with constant dropouts and longer gaps lasting a second or two. Really frustrating considering they are in adjacent rooms.
The WiFi is provided by BT using their latest Smart Hub 2. I even have two extra discs in the house, so three in all plus the router itself. It is not a large house by any means. But, despite all this it just won't work for BluOS. I have no problems with other equipment although an occasional router restart is sometimes needed. I guess this is typical.
I tried connecting the Node2i via Ethernet to one of the discs. This made no difference at all.
Does anyone have any ideas - could it be anything to do with 2.4 v 5Ghz?
Thanks everyone
Charles

Hi Charles
Please check out www.bluesound.com/network101 and evaluate your signal strength in Help, Diagnostics with the MINI selected as your player.
It may not be a large home, but if the MINI is tucked away and a cinderblock retaining wall lays between it and the router, that can have dramatic effects.
