Outdoors Options?
BeantwortetHey everyone,
I'm running a NAD C388 in the living room, with the BlueOS 2i MDC.
As we're renovating the yard (back and front), I'm looking at setting up a couple of outdoor zones (two in the back, one in the front of the house).
What kind of setup would make sense in this case? Would I need separate nodes, or can I make everything work off the 2i MDC with sets of outdoors speakers? And which speakers would you use outdoors?
We're in Ottawa, Canada, so they'll have to survive winter, though they won't be covered with snow where they'll be located.
Thanks for any advice,
Alex

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you Alex.
If you want separate individual room (or zone) control you probably want a separate POWERNODE for each zone. Since you are looking for some quality outdoor speakers to handle the frigid Rideau Valley winters anyway, speak with your authorised Bluesound Dealer (such as The Audio Shop on Bank St.) about possibly an NAD CI580 2i powered by BluOS. the CI 580 is a rack-mountable passive streamer made by our good friends down the hall at NAD Electronics. It is basically 4 Bluesound NODES in a single box. You will need a 4 channel amplifier to go with that - such as an NAD CI980.
Simply run speaker wire at that point.
