youtube music streaming
BeantwortetDear,
I enjoy the youtube music streaming service a lot because of their great recommendation algorithms. It makes me really enjoy my setup.
Currenlty I'm streaming via bluetooth. From a quality perspective, I'd prefer to cut out the bluetooth from the streaming chain and stream yt music directy via my node.
Can you please add youtube music to the 'Music Services' section ?
thx in advance,
-Joost

+1 for YouTube music

YouTube Music indeed has a better recommendation algorithm compared to other streaming services. So please add it to the Music Services.
Thanks

So now that the Node 2021 is out, is there any motion on YouTube Music support?

Google always seems to have the best algorithms. An issue I keep running into with Youtube Music is lack of support on most streaming devices. I am going to buy one soon and hope Bluesound will state their plans on this matter.

There isn't a single app that I use on BlueSound. YouTube music is the only service I subscribe to, so it kind of sucks...can you please prioritize on this app?

I placed an order for an additional node and a pulse speaker to replace my Sonos crap. Decided to cancel my order since, even though Sonos annoys me quite a bit, I realized that supporting YouTube music is too big of a selling point. I may reconsider if BlueSound were to support it

You can still use the YouTube App and AirPlay to your Bluesound Player. Android, Kindle Fire or Windows users, you can also pair your player using Bluetooth and listen to the content from the streaming service's app or website using up to AptX-HD quality Bluetooth Audio.
Please see bluesound.com/bluetooth for more details.

Not to be contrarian, but I actually had to permanently turn off bluetooth this weekend because a neighbor in my apartment building successfully connected to my PowerNode 2i well after midnight and blasted some awful music through my living room stereo. Could have damaged my speakers and sub.
So native integration for YouTube Music would be greatly appreciated.3 -
I am not interested in using Bluetooth. I use BlueSound by loading up a playlist on an app and walking by and hitting play or pause on the unit. And sometimes via remote. If I used my phone, I would have to turn on bluetooth, pair it with BlueSound, then go into the app each time. If I wanted a Bluetooth speaker, I wouldn't be paying a premium for BlueSound

Same here.BluOS should support youtube music. I've held off making a purchase because of this.

Waiting for OVER A YEAR for this is getting very, very old. Please stay on the right side of the curve, Bluesound.

Yes an answer from Bluesound would be nice. SONOS supports YouTube Music after all: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3259?language=en_US

I have invested heavily in a Bluesound components at my house, but find that the bluetooth connection from my cellphone, as suggested, a lousy way of streaming music from youtube music to the Bluesound system. One pays a premium price for good quality music - almost audiophile - and then one has to downscale because of inadequate development in the Bluesound side. Google is far superior in regard to AI en personal music preferances, I have used Spotify, Amazon, Quboz and TIDAL and YouTube Music is far superior to all the mentioned names.... Come on BlueOS, when will you come with an adequate solution?

JohanN, dont get any hopes that this will ever happen.
Even basic requests are not added (even though they kinda promise it), bugs are not fixed and are ignored.

They will loose more and more customer support and at the end Google will take over with their Google NEST option or further integration into other better amplified speaker builders.....If you SNOOZE, YOU LOOSE....

Hi Johan
Thanks for your feedback - unfortunately Google Chromecast is not necessarily the panacea some hope it would be. Please see this post regarding GC4A from our BluOS Product Development Brand Manager, Andrew H. for details; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360034972134/comments/4410382038039
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

For over a year now I listen to YouTube Music, and all music from any source, including my own music collection, on my Bluesound system. You can do that too, and I'll tell you how. Bluesound supports "Airplay 2", an Apple application for casting (audio & video). However, there are multiple apps for Windows (PC) and Android that support Airplay. It took me several months to find the best solution and get everything to work properly, but the result is a perfect stream without any interference and without any loss (no Bluetooth).
For the PC/windows I ended up with "Tuneblade", which finally I installed on an older laptop, that became by then my casting device. Since I was very satisfied with the result, I paid $5 (!) for registration. A few months later I had found a perfect solution for Android called "Airmusic". Both applications can detect your sound system, in my case two Bluesound Pulse Mini and one Bluesound node, and send the signal to it. Note that these applications make a WiFi connection, they do not send an audio signal, so there is no loss of quality. (Audio quality isn't the main concern when listening to YouTube Music, but it is important when listening to your own collection. As most everyone here on this forum agrees, YTM excels through its algorithm, in no time picking up the music that you, I, each of us with our own preferences, will probably like). For those who are interested: Airmusic also detects devices connected to Chromecast. After seeing that everything was working fine, I also registered this software for only $9.95.
While it may seem like it’s just a matter of installing the right applications, it took me several months to get it all working properly. Just to give you a tip: you have to adjust the volume on the Bluos software beforehand (if you've solved it to your satisfaction, you can close that old-boiled looking program), after which you can adjust it further with both casting applications.
I wonder if the folks at Bluesound don't know these solutions (or any others, as there are more). They could at least suggest this on this forum, but it would be even better if they offered something like this integrated into their software (which urgently asks for an new look and feel). Doing nothing of that nature appears to me like a some kind of bad will...

Very disappointed... Even VOLUMIO is able to provide YouTube music integration via Plugin!

Would be nice to have support for YouTube Music - not to be confused with regular YouTube. This is a competitive service to Spotify, Apple Music, etc. I'm going to have to return my Node now, as I'm actually shocked this isn't supported, and I'm not willing to switch music providers considering I'm getting YouTube Music as part of a premium family plan. Thanks.

Hi Todd,
As you can read in my post from three months ago, it is possible to listen to YTM with a little help from third-party software/apps. These programs make it possible to also listen to your own collection using your favourite music player and thus bypass the Bluos application. However, it's a (damn) shame that the Bluesound software doesn't support this itself. (So far I have had no response from there…)

Three years have passed since this request was initially created, and this is still a feature request. WTF?
3 -
Plus one for YT Music support... bluesound? Anyone?
4 -
Give it another 6 years. They are “passing it along.” I guess only other streamers can do it.
2 -
Can you at least keep us updated? If you are having problems with developers, just say it, we will figure out something.

Hi Aida’s
Already answered here; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360044078913/comments/8046127847703
Apple AirPlay or Bluetooth both work fine. Please see www.Bluesound.com/Bluetooth for step by step instructions to stream direct from your phone or tablet.

Thanks Tony! But is this a final decision not to include Youtube Music native integration because bluetooth works fine? I am an android user, so AirPlay is not an option for me, maybe chromecast would be better, but it's a different topic.
Would you consider to add native support in the future?1 -
Hi Aidas- my link speaks specifically about Chromecast and why we cannot implement it as it is and how YouTube, also being a subsidiary of Google’s parent company is saying implementing would be through Chromecast.

Hello Tony W.
3 years ago your answer was "it has been passed along for future consideration..." The future is now. YouTube music is part of this future. We customers like to now when you will see the light. Wake up and make this possible!3
