BluOS Controller Cache File

I am trying to do a full virus scan of my system after recently acquring my Bluesound system. The scan is taking forever, indicates many tens of thousands of BluOS cached files. Is it looping, or is this the new normal?At this point, I only have a few of our CD's loaded on the system.

 

Do you know if, with BitDefender, a scan exemption can be made to skip the the BluOS Controller cache file?

  I have run several antivirus scans myself (using both Norton and MalwareBytes) and have not had issues similar to what you have described with your BitDefender.

  With that being said, I am unsure of what would be causing BitDefender to show these results. What I would suggest is to contact BitDefender directly for further clarification as they would also be able to provide you any information regarding scan exemptions through their software as well.

  I have the same issue with MacAfee Livesafe scans, it crashes after hours scanning the cache dir. There are 278,534 hash files in my cache folder. what are they for? Can they be purged?

  Yes, you may safely purge this cache. It should be just album artwork in there as all data and customisation is stored on the Players themselves. If problems persist, completely uninstall the App from Windows Settings and then install a newly downloaded package from www.bluesound.com/downloads.
