RCA + Coaxial
BeantwortetHi, have seen a similar but not exactly the same question, so putting up a new post. I am using an external DAC (SMSL M500) which is connected to the Bluesound Node 2i via coaxial. The M500 itself is connected to my Rega amp. In this case, I assume that the internal DAC is bypassed.
Now, if I also connect the RCA of the Node 2i directly to the amp, is there any impact on whats passing through the coaxial connection?
In other words, can I assume that when both RCA and coaxial are connected simultaneously, the RCA is fed through the internal DAC, and the coaxial continues to bypass the internal DAC completely?

Hello Arun,
The Node 2i is designed to provide audio through all the available outputs on the back of the player simultaneously. This means you should have no issues connecting multiple devices to these outputs at the same time. Even with both coaxial and RCA connected at the same time, each will provide audio independently with the coaxial output bypassing the internal DAC and the RCA output being processed by the internal DAC.Regards,

Thanks, this helps. When I've connected both in the past, I have struggled to hear the difference between the RCA and coaxial to another DAC, which led me to believe that the Node was somehow processing both similarly. Dont know enough of the tech to understand if thats possible. This clarifies.
