Powernode 2i
BeantwortetHi, so last night the powernode 2i had its first night in our house. This morning when i woke up i noticed the lights on the top were still on exactly like last night. Does this mean the Powernode did not go to standby mode but is still on?
Also why didn't you guys make a more extensive manual? I have several questions which let me to forums and a lot of searching to find out. The app is not user friendly and we are having volume problems switching between sources (nearly blew up my new speakers). Also spotify continuing to play when i closed the bluos app and spotify.
Above mentioned is not something you would expect from a machine of this value, and i'm sorry to say but this is giving us doubts about not returning it.

Hello JMB,
I have addressed your concerns regarding volume difference between sources in your other post here on the community boards.
As for the LED indicator of your Powernode 2i, while the Powernode 2i is connected to your network, the top LED will display as solid blue. After playback on your Powernode 2i is stopped for 15 minutes the player will automatically go into a low power standby mode.
Although we do not have a user manual for the BluOS app at this time, there are many helpful article to help answer any questions you may have regarding the application which are available through the link below.

Hi Wesley,
Thank you for your reply.
But it’s still unclear for me.
Please tell me if, when the powernode goes to low power standby mode, the top light (blue led) will turn off or stay on?Regards

Hello JMB,
The top LED on the Powernode will always remain on even while in standby mode. If you would like to disable the LED indicator you can do so by going to Settings > Player > Indicator Brightness.
I hope this helps.

Thank you Wesley for your reply.
I don't understand what the use is for the lights on top are when the powernode is in standby mode.
Of course this is just my view of things but it makes more sense to me if they were off with only the small led on the front on. Maybe it's something you guys can address in the next firmware.

I have the same concerns re my new unit and I am now turning the unit off at the mains power when not in use to save wasting power. If this is the case that 10w of power is being used in standby there is something fundamentally wrong here and there is a need for more standby options that purely allow for the remote control to allow the device to be woken rather than the whole amplifier being permanently ready to go, wasting a huge amount of power in the process.
As suggested already an app/firmware update could/should be implemented to resolve this.
Kind regards
James

Hi James
Your POWERNODE 2i will IDLE automatically after 15 minutes and consume less than 3w as required by EU Law for an always-ready network appliance. - Not sure where you are seeing this 10w figure you are seeing.0 -
Thanks Tony,
The BlueSound website states the following:
Power Consumption (Idle)
10 Watts
0 -
Thanks James
It is 10 watts when no music is playing but on - after 15 minutes of idle it will enter Stand By when it consumes 3 watts as required by EU Law - I will speak with our Marketing team to make this more clear to our Marketing team.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention,Tony
