Playing a CD from a transport connected to Node 2i Optical input

I am on the verge of swapping my SONOS Connect for a Node 2i. One advantage is I can connect my CD transport via the Node’s mini Toslink. What I can’t get my head around is what, if anything, I will see in the BlueOS app on an iPad Mini. Does Node index and show the CD tracks while the disc is in the player? If not, how do I switch from Deezer or NAS playback to CD and then select/control the CD tracks?

  You will not see CD Metadata information. You will see an Optical Input Source in the BluOS App you can customise as 'CD Player'. You select your Library or Deezer as a different source...

  ...have you considered a VAULT rather than a NODE?
