    Hello Ricus,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. If these lyrics are stored in the ID3 metadata of these music files then it may be possible to include this feature in a future BluOS firmware update.

I will pass your feedback along to our Quality Assurance team for their consideration.

    Regards,
    Wesley P.

    Hi,

My music collection is on a Synology NAS. In the audio software of Synology there is a possibility to add the lyrics of the song to the flac file. While playing the music in your playlist you can tap the cover icon and the display will show a larger cover, controllers and the lyrics of the current song.

could that also be a suggestion for the Bluesound app? If you tap on the cover icon now at the bottom left the system switches to a display with enlarged cover picture and volume control. There is room enough for lyrics and controllers (stop, pause, forward, backward)

If you include all this text into the music file, wouldn't it make the database and the update process slower? I would prefer using one of the online databases and add that to the info context menu.

    Hi Frans,

If it is only text then that would be maximum 2 kilobytes per song. If I have read the specs right, the Node2(i) can index 100.000 songs, so that would be 200 mb storage space max.

In my case I have stored my music on a NAS, so while indexing, the Bluos module can leave out the lyrics part of the ID3 file and as soon as it downloads the flac/alac file it can read the ID3 tag again and add the lyrics to be displayed.

By my experience, the online lyrics databases are far from complete and if you would integrate them into the Bluesound system a users license probably will be mandatory.

In case of a streaming service it would be a better idea that the streaming services themselves add the text to their streaming files and now that I am thinking about it: it should be normal for the music production industry to add lyrics to their music files. Not everybody feels comfortable in the digital era yet, I suppose.
