No sound TV sound from optical input
BeantwortetI'd like to connect my TV to my Bluesound Node2. LG Smarttv connected with Toslink optical cable and 3,5mm adapter to Node2
TV sound set on "optical", PCM
In the Bluesound controller I selected "optical input".
But no sound...
I cant find any other settings, what can I do to get this working?

I tried all suggested remedies. The only time optical input will work is after rebooting Bluesound. This indicates no issue with cable or settings.
Actually, it does suggest a settings issue... our Support Crew would like to see the log file and then make a recommendation. Help, Send Support Request in the App, please.

I've raised a support request Tony.
I got out my old Samsung - worked the moment I plugged it in.
Interestingly I managed to get sound out of the LG via optical this evening. I pulled out the cable from the back of the TV and plugged it back in (whilst playing something) and suddenly I had sound...my excitement was short lived though, I put the TV into standby and when it awoke, no sound again. Unplugging/replugging works everytime, obviously not the solution but perhaps it indicates where the problem might be? I tried reconnecting at the powernode end but no luck, only works at the back of the TV.

Tony,
Does it? Because we went through all of that troubleshooting in the past to determine that was not the issue. We are going for 1 year + here.
It stops working immediately after. This doesn’t happen with my $75 DAC. It doesn’t require a reboot to recognize a signal. And once switched, the Node 2i will not recognize the optical input. There is an obvious bug in these units. Please don’t suggest it’s my cable again.
As much as I don’t love the idea, I think Sonus may be a better option.

I run into the same problem and I tried with all working optical cables that I have but it did not work. I believe the root cause lie at the original 3.5mm adapter piece included in the package. I bought new Toslink cable with 3.5mm at one end (note I do not use adapter) and the sound go through perfectly. So it is not really the cable, the problem is at the original 3.5mm adapter.
