Hierarchical browsing in local library
BeantwortetI have not seen BluOS in action, so this might be naive, but I’m trying to understand its capabilities while evaluating some streamer options.
I have a few hundred albums, mostly classical, ripped to FLAC and stored on a Synology NAS. I run MinimServer which allows me, from controllers such as MusicCast, BubbleUPnP, Kazoo, Lumin, to browse metadata in a hierarchical fashion that I find natural. For example genre - composer - artist - album, or composer - genre - artist - album, or artist - composer - album. I don’t have to define any hierarchies to make this possible, MinimServer just allows drilldown from whatever tag I choose as the starting point.
I realise that I would not be able to use MinimServer’s UPnP service (or indeed the OpenHome renderer mapping provided by BubbleUPnP server alongside it) with BluOS, so its built in browsing capabilities are crucial. Does BluOS allow a comparable hierarchical browsing thru multiple tag levels?

Hello Merlin,
At this time there is no browsing options such as you have described. In the BluOS app you can sort by Artist, Album, Songs, Composer and Genre. Alternatively if you would like to have a hierarchical structure to your music library, you have the option to view your music library in folder view which would allow you to navigate through your library by the folder structure which it is sorted. By doing this you could potentially sort your library in any way you see fit by organizing them in folders.I'm sorry I do not have more positive news for you but I hope this workaround helps.

That's more or less as I feared, so I shall continue with MinimServer for now.
Thank you for the clarification.
