Roon Problems with Powernode 2i
BeantwortetWhen using Roon to drive my Powernode 2i, I experience the symptoms listed below. I am running all the latest versions of SW/FW. Symptoms:
- A delay of 10-15 seconds when loading songs, resulting in the first bit of the song being cut off
- The “playing” icon starts as soon as I click the track, I won't actually hear anything until much later
- It doesn't happen all the time; clicking on a song a second time, even a second or two later, would often get it to load instantly
- There is rarely a problem where an album is playing through tracks (they flow seamlessly), only when I manually pick the song to play
- Scrolling the song using the time bar takes 5-10 seconds (at least) to adjust the track position
- Roon controller randomly loses connection to the core and display “Please select a core” before reconnecting itself
- The issue persists whether on iPhone or iPad as a remote
- It gets worse if/when I group zones
- Sometimes, these symptoms cause the Bluesound to "freeze" and it becomes uncontrollable from either Roon of the BlueOS app. The only way to recover in this case is to power cycle the unit.
I have reviewed this extensively with Roon and they can't figure it out. It appears they don't have a 2i in house for testing. The problem is limited to Bluesound nodes, non-Bluesound nodes work fine. It may well be in either the Bluesound network stack or the RAAT implementation.

Sounds like your POWERNODE 2i is coming out of stand by and the front end is getting clipped as the Amp powers up. Try disabling standby in Settings, Player.

This makes no sense. I will try disabling the setting, however, I presume the amp goes into standby after some period of inactivity. As you can see, these problems are happening when the unit is in use. Unless the unit is entering standby when it shouldn't.
What are the conditions that cause the 2i to enter standby? Does the unit properly recognize material being sent from Roon as being in an 'active' state such that entering standby is prevented?
Also, in looking at the logs, I see no evidence of it entering standby. Do you see this in the logs I sent?

If idle for more than 15 minutes, the amplifier will shut down by default as required by the EU for power consumption reasons. It may take a few seconds for the amplifier to auto restart when content is detected. You can disable this in the settings.
As you have entered a Support Request (which I see in our queue) I will let our support crew continue to follow up with you directly...

Okay. Please refer them to this thread as the symptom description is here and not in the initial support request (initiated from BS App).
I would guess based on your description that the standby condition is not the cause.
I'll wait to hear from support.
