Is the subwoofwer analog output on the Powernode 2i still active if subwoofer option is not selected?
BeantwortetBecause crossover frequency is manually controlled I would like to send all frequencies to the speakers also.

Hi Omer
Yes. enabling the sub option will disable frequencies<80Hz to the mains but the sub port is always active...

Tony, I have a question in this regard - just to be clear.
I don't use the DAC of the Node 2i - rather, I run coaxial to my preamp. I do, however, use the sub-out on the Node 2i.
From what you are saying, and other posts, it would seem that the sub-out is always active, and even when the "with subwoofer" option is not selected, the sub-out port remains active and puts out frequencies below 80Hz. Is that correct?
Secondly, when the "with subwoofer" option is not selected, the analogue outputs will output the full frequency range. But what about the digital output (coaxial)? Am I correct in saying the Node 2i does not filter the signal via digital output, and my preamp therefore receives a full range signal?
If the above is true, and I have my active sub at a crossover of 80 Hz, with digital output from the Node to my preamp, there should be no difference in the bass output to the system (mains speakers and sub) whether I select "with subwoofer" or not. Is that correct? Conversely, if the above is not true, the mains speakers will not receive lower frequencies when selecting "with subwoofer", irrespective of analogue or digital output mode?
What is puzzling to me is that my sub seems to put out more bass when "with subwoofer" is selected, than without. This I still need to test further...

Hi Jeremy
With/Without Sub only affects analogue output. As for what setting is the best for you... go with what your ears tell you sounds best.
