How to connect vault 2i to NAD 1050 DAC
BeantwortetHi there,
I currently use a NAD 1050 DAC, but got a vault 2i recently. I'd like to connect the vault 2i to the NAD to my amp just to test if that betters the sound quality than the onboard vault dac. I currently use USB with the NAD and my computer as the music source, but when I connected the usb to my vault through the NAD, the vault didn't register as a source. It seems that I can't connect a vault to an external dac via usb, and have to use toslink/optical, but if I do that I won't get the full resolution that the NAD supports via usb is 192. I can't use the analog outs to my dac because the NAD 1050 only has 1 set of analog out ports. I have a few questions:
1) Can I use usb to connect the vault 2i to the NAD, and if so how?
2) What is the best way to connect the vault 2i to the NAD 1050?
3) Will connecting to the 1050 be an improvement of sound quality over the vault 2i's onboard dac? They both sounded good yesterday, but I couldn't lock in the volumes on both to test equivalently. The salesperson seemed to indicate I wouldn't need the NAD any longer, but I just want to make sure.

Hi Mats
The VAULT does not support USB. Use the digital coax out or optical out to connect to the NAD D1050. Try it and let your ears decide.

The wifi connection between vault and node 2i connected to amp sometimes break for a few second. How can I vault to node with a wire to ensure that there is no break?
thanks

Hi Alain
Either connect your NODE 2i to your home router using a wired connection or check out www.bluesound.com/network101 for tips in improving Wi-Fi performance to your NODE
