Definitive answer to DTS playback
BeantwortetI have a whole floor of Sonos products, my biggest issues with their eco-system being
1. Lack of support for Hi-Res Audio
2. Lack of support for native DTS 5.1 for movies
from my research, blue-sound handles #1 but searching through the forums I cannot find a definitive answer on whether it handles DTS 5.1 (I'm obviously alluding to the soundbar) .
Just having Hi-Red support is not enough to sway me to a new eco-system, but if both things could be covered I would sell everything and re-invest

Hi Chris
The Bluesound PULSE SOUNDBAR and SOUNDBAR 2i is Dolby Certified and with a PULSE FLEX will create a Dolby Certified Home Theatre Experience. We continue to work with DTS regarding their certification process as well.

When you are saying "continue to work with DTS", does that mean that both DTS and DTS-HD is on the roadmap?

It's a big issue that a high end soundbar doesn't support DTS.
Even main stream soundbars from Samsung now support DTS-X not to name Yamaha, Denon and a large number of other companies.Playing movies with DTS sound tracks that have no sound without having to reconfigure TV settings to resample content is useless for less technical users or young members of the family. A real show stopper! :(

Tony, what happened to the DTS implementation? I guess its a total long shot, that it will get implemented in the future ? (aka, it will NOT happen?)

Never say never but nothing to share at this time.

I came across this post while I was looking for a system to replace my Sonos, as I'm fed up with their stupid S1 and S2 marketing trying to force me and upgrade my whole house.
It's a real shame that Bluesound doesn't have DTS, and it amazes me that there is not a single brand in the whole world that offers a multiroom soundbar with DTS in the color white.
I will keep checking the internet until somebody makes one, I guess.

It is... I kinda gave up the DTS. Some BluRay / DVD Players, can convert DTS to DD "on-the-fly". Or else its possible to put it an audio-decoder in between. I cannot remember the name though (and its kinda expensive, when you already payed a lot of bucks for an soundsystem).

Sonos has added to beam and arc now, actually some back.. (And its possible to get in white)
