iPhone volume button no longer controls volume of app
Upgraded to the latest version of the app and now iPhone volume buttons no longer control volume within app. Was this done on purpose or are other users experiencing the same? I'm controlling a PowerNode 2.

Hi Todd
Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the inconvenience. We have been requested to remove this feature as it is not inline with Apple's software development process. We are not allowed to use hard button volume controls on an iOS device unless the music is coming directly from the iOS device or via AirPlay.
We are evaluating options to see if we can somehow restore this functionality within Apple's guidelines.
Thanks for understanding.

I have a vault2 and powernode2, and none of my ios products can control volume with the harware buttons anymore.
So I have the same problem. Highly annoying!0 -
Is the android app restricted in the same way, or is it only on ios devices?

I understand Apple is not always consistent in applying their app guidelines. Maybe it's useful to know that Spotify (when using Spotify Connect) does continue to map the hardware buttons to the devices audio volume. And as such Spotify iOS app is able to control my powernode2 volume with the hardware buttons of my iPhone.
Perhaps it is possible to look into the specifics of this implementation and see if the same can applied in the BluOS iOS app.

Thanks for the tip Marckr
This is because Spotify's App itself has the ability to play Music on its own

But then you “just“ have to implement this play function to the BluOS App itself, isn’t it?

"just" is a mighty big word... much bigger than you realise...

Thanks Tony for giving the details. I've been annoyed for a while and finally looked it up in the forums. I'll be still annoyed and would love to see the volume buttons control the player volume again but I do understand Apple's guidelines and the complications to not be able to implement this feature. I still think it would be a great feature to have it back so please keep annoying apple with feature requests for future iOS guidelines :). Thanks
