The ultimate disappointment: Forced to throw my Bluesound Powernode in the bin
BeantwortetI have not been able to use my Bluesound Powernode for almost a year now. After a firmware update the player got stuck rebuilding the library. I spent many, many hours with the friendly helpdesk employees trying to fix this to no avail.
I tried to file a complaint but was refused to do so. I asked for an alternative solution but no response.
I bought my first NAD 40 years ago. Have been a huge fan from the beginning.
No more NAD Bluesound for me.

Hi Rogier
Thank you for taking the time to write. I have reviewed your entire history, as I did back in July. The red LED on your Bluesound N150 POWERNODE was diagnosed to you as a failed amplifier board and would require service. It is unfortunate this has happened, but regretably not uncommon for a 12-year-old piece of equipment, especially one listened to so frequently.
In our conversations with you on this matter, our Support Crew advised you for proper channels (in your case, our regional distribution team in the Benelux region) about the next steps to look into this issue.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Hi Tony,I was thinking about your response. I can't recollect we came to the conclusion this was a hardware issue. It started after a firmware upgrade. As you can read a colleague of yours concluded the technical department could replicate the error and it would be dealt with in a future firmware update. Needless to say it hasn't. Why do you all of a sudden come to the conclusion that it must be a hardware failure? What is this conclusion based upon? I am still very disappointed. With kind regardsRogier0

Admin might want to email Roger that this is a known issue and can be fixed, but it is probably too late.
Before physically removing any share drive hardware (Music Library) it is important to FIRST remove it from the BluOS Controller app. If you do not then BluOS cannot add another share drive again, ever. The BluOS Controller will hang trying to add the share drive. The only known fix for this is to do a factory reset on the Node Device. To do this, power off the Node. Power it back on and press and hold the red play button until the status light starts blinking red, about 20 to 30 seconds.

Hi Peter,
Thank you very much. No I did not know that. I spent exactly 1 year, since november 2024, trying to fix this. Decided to give up on it and gave the player away to someone who could use its amplifier part.
I did dozens of factory resets and managed to share the library on my NAS, or so it seemed. It never managed to finish the indexing process till the end though. Got stuck at 4500 or 5000 titles. I replaced even the SD card myself as someone mentioned this might cause problems but to no avail. I was very please with my Powernode but this planned obsolescence is rather annoying.
My advise would be to start sharing information so we could all learn from each other instead of referring back to the helpdesk.
Wishing you a lovely Sunday!
With kind regards
Rogier
