Grouping issues
BeantwortetHi,
I read that 4.19 would solve grouping issues that it seemed a lot of people were having - for me it didn't at all.
I create a group and within half an hour there is no audio (TuneIn stream), the wheel is spinning around the play icon, at least one (sometimes two) of the grouped players have the 'group disconnected, select this player to discard group', those players will randomly re-join the group in the app then drop out, if I tap them to discard the group they appear to be standalone then they re-join the group again and then drop out again, they they disappear from the list altogether then repeat. It's a complete, unusable shambles. The single most annoying thing is that I can't 'stop' the spinning wheel, I can't stop it trying to restore the group and play because of it's hardware based architecture. I force stop the app, power down and repower speakers and it's still spinning, still randomly dropping and re-joining the group, I can't do anything to stop it apart from powering off all units in the group for over an hour. Currently sat here with thousands of pounds worth of equipment throughout my house from a brand I've supported for over a decade and the only way I can make devices play is in isolation. People used to be impressed by the Bluesound gear, recently (and not for the first time) I'm constantly embarrassed and making excuses for it.
I powered down my router last night (Unifi Deam Machine SE) and left that and my fibre NT powered off, removed power leads from all 16 of my my Bluesound devices (which is a complete PITA) and this morning, powered the router and NT then went around and powered all my Bluesound devices. Streamed on one device, added four to the group, was fine for half an hour then the same behaviour. I (once again) want to throw out thousands of pounds of equipment which just isn't working as designed.
I am not aware of another Company that have the same amount of issues with supposedly mature software and who constantly introduce new issues with updates. Releases at version 4.10.19 should have a large new feature list and a tiny bugfix list and it's just the opposite. I love Bluesound hardware and sound. I absolutely hate the control software and it's architecture which seems to be unique in the space; if it is maybe others don't design that way for good reason.
Chris.

I'm unsure if this is part of the same issue or separate; this is me trying (for days now) to create a home theatre group with a Pulse+ soundbar and two flex:
Impossible, just refuses to create the group.
Pulse+ is on ethernet, flexs are wifi. I get that a lot of my stuff is legacy and I accept there may be issues with that but this is a current model £900 soundbar. I'm slowly replacing the legacy kit but it's thousands and thousands of pounds and the Bluesound hardware failure rate out of warranty especially for the older gear is disappointingly high for the hardware cost.
I have two N series Powernodes, one Powernode 2 and one 2i soundbar which don't power on at all or give red light of doom and a sub that farts at high levels if anyone needs some robust doorstops? The Powernodes were all deemed not economical to repair by the UK agent, I'm hoping they can repair the soundbar, I (and they) don't hold out much hope for the sub, that'll more than likely be a £75 investigation fee and £25 shipping down the drain.

Hi Chris, were you able to resolve the issue? I'm still on 4.10.13 and 4.10.0 and recently started having this problem. The wired Pulse M shows in the desktop app but it won't group with my Node. The other wireless Pulse M does not show up in the app but I see it in the iOS app with the "Group disconnected, trying to restore" warning.

Hello Jo
BluOS 4.10.13 was retired 6 months ago. We have released at least 2 versions of BluOS since. Please upgrade to BluOS 4.12.4. If problems persist when running the latest version of BluOS, please see Mark's official comment about contacting our Support Crew.
