BluOS Voice Control for Alexa: Long delays

I am using the Alexa skill BluOS Voice Control on an Echo5 to voice-control my Bluesound NODE 2i. It worked nicely for a couple of years (I am mostly using the commands "tell bluevoice pause/play"). 

Since a few weeks the skill is heavily delayed: Alexa acknowledges the command immediately, but the execution of the command on the NODE 2i is done 1-5 minutes (!) later.

I already restarted and reconnected the involved skills and devices, but this didn't help. In general, I suppose the NODE 2i and Alexa are communicating via some servers at Amazon and/or Bluesound. 

How could this be fixed or at least debugged? Are there any server logs one could check?
