Hey all. I’m at a loss how to make this work so wondered if anyone had any experience. I have a blue sound node icon streamer. I have just purchased a singer su 6 ddc and a gustard R26 Dac. The chain is as follows: Icon to DDC via usb DDC to Gustard R26 via i2s Gustard R26 to amp via XLR I can see the option in the icon settings to choose the singer as the output. Which then allows the signal and music to the speakers . My question is that this seems to disable Dirac live functionality and I lose the option to select it. I can also tell it is disabled as the sound is just different completely and ideas how to get Dirac working this way

  Hi Craig

  Though DIRAC Live will support external DACs connected via COAX or Optical, USB Output is not supported by DIRAC.

  Thanks Tony. Can you tell me if the signal will be degraded using the coax out instead of USB out to my ddc? I’m under the understanding that the USB out gives a much cleaner signal path

  In honesty, the more devices you connect in your audio chain the more the signal is altered. It is really for your ears to decide but we here at Bluesound trust the SnR ratio in the ESS Sabre DAC of your NODE ICON to create a neutral unaltered sound. We have implemented DIRAC to allow you to alter that to your taste.

  The cleanest signal path is the one with the least amount of devices - but again let your ears be the decision maker.

  Hi I have now connected a coaxial digital cable from the icon coax out to the s/psif- 2 connection on my dac and it is not finding the dac in the blue os app in output mode whereas via usb it was fining it fine. Any ideas?
