Spotify Crossfade feature doesn't work on Node 2i
BeantwortetWhen I use Spotify through my Node 2i the crossfade feature doesn't work. Hasn't for years. I have it connected to a Yamaha integrated amp. Bluesound blames Spotify and Spotify blames Bluesound. But I have Spotify on Adroid and iOS phones, it works in my car, on my TV, on my computer, when I hardwire a phone to the amp, etc. At least 5 other devices. The crossfade feature always works on all of them. But not the Node 2i. I just did a software update for the Node 2i, it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Spotify Connect which is what you are using to connect to Bluesound has some limitations, no crossfade and no normalisation. Unfortunately it’s a Spotify issue, many years ago crossfade did work but Spotify for some reason removed the functionality.

Thanks Seppi, I see what you're saying. So, I can connect from my phone using Bluetooth (like in my car) and the Spotify app features are not disengaged. It sounds good, but the stereo I'm playing it on isn't super high end. Is the Node's DAC working in this configuration? Or am I using the phone's DAC and the Node serving as a Bluetooth connector? I appreciate any info you might have here.

You will be using the NODE’s DAC, what you are hearing is the limitations of Bluetooth transmission unfortunately.
