NAD M10 V3 handling Liner PCM
BeantwortetHi!
I have two tower T+A speakers wired to my NAD M10 V3 and two Pulse Flex 2I set up as surround speakers playing in a 4.0 setup.
Dolby content over streaming services sounds brilliant!
However I had to find out, that most BluRays only support DTS HD and no Dolby, which obviously can't be decoded by the NAD.
My current player, a Panasonic DMP-BDT110EG outputs bitstream or PCM (no LPCM).
My LG OLED G2 also does no converting whatsoever (only PCM passthrough)
So on my extensive search for a solution here I learned, that my only choice is getting a UltraHD Bluray player that converts DTS to Dolby on the fly, such as most Samsung Players and the legendary Oppo 203.
Both Samsung and Oppo aren't preferred options, Samsung specs and looks are not what i wanna go for and the Oppo is hard to get these days.
So if i opt for a newer Panasonic model, such as the DP-UB820, that can send out DTS HD content as LPCM, is there any chance that the NAD / BluOS handles and plays it as Dolby content over the 4.0 setup?
Cheers
Caspar

Not quite.
In short, the BluRay player will need to send PCM stereo. LPCM is supported, but multichannel PCM can not be processed by BluOS.
NOTE that DTS HD content converted to LPCM will not play as Dolby over the 4.0 setup. It will play as LPCM.
The setup will work, but any BluRay that lacks Dolby audio will need to output PCM for playback over the M10.

Thanks for your answer Tony!
I'll see if I can get my hands on an Oppo then!0 -
... or NAD T-Series receiver would do the trick.
