Will eARC auto take over Airplay on N132?
BeantwortetHi, looking to buy N132, read the manual and did as much research as I could on this topic.
- Imagine I'm watching Netflix, audio is flowing through eARC to Node 132. Cool. I PAUSE the video.
- I then decide to send audio through AirPlay to Node. Will AirPlay "take over" eARC signal? Or I have to fiddle with Node remote?
- As the AirPlay audio is playing, I RESUME watching Netflix. Would eARC auto "take over" AirPlay signal, or I have to fiddle with Node remote?
Reason I ask is I am not the only one using main TV system (wife, kids also use) and anything that requires extra fiddling is a tough sell.
Thanks!!!
P.S. Setup would be: Apple TV 4K -> Sony Bravia -> Node N132 via eARC -> Chord Qutest DAC -> amp.

Yes - that is exactly how CEC works. It is not democractic and will hijack the Player when signal is detected. In fact it is more likely based on support calls that CEC hijacks the player and prevents AirPlay when the TV appears to be off but is in fact sending 0 audio and not a null signal. Reveiew your TV documentation to ensure it goes into true low power stand by when it is 'off'.

p.s. I've read about Auto Sense. So I can set Auto Sense on eARC input I imagine. But still curious how AirPlay and eARC will fight each other out in scenario I presented.

Super, thank you Tony! I'll give it a try and report back for anyone else who is curious.

got N132 today and confirmed that eArc-to-Airplay-to-eARC is non issue. Node switches back and forth seamlessly!
