I had the same problem. This is what fixed it for me (running Win11Pro version 10.0.26100.2605):

Use the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and drill in to this key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters

If you see the "AllowInsecureGuestAuth" entry, set its value to 1.

If you don't see it, right click to create a new DWORD entry with the same name, and set its value to 1.

    Good luck.

I have this problem with a new Asus laptop running Win 11. My old Dell instantly saw the Vault and allowed access to the hard drive. Can anyone help on this?

Did you try the solution I documented above?

Hello Joe, I tried. I could see none of the screens you indicated. Eg

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters

If you see the "AllowInsecureGuestAuth" entry, set its value to 1.

Also I was very wary of editing the Registry. But thanks for  advice. Hope it helps the more adventurous users.

Hey Joe.  Your regedit suggestion DOES work.  I didn't have the DWORD key but added it and set it to 1 as per your post.  I had previously had the share mapped and it immediately showed back up and connected after a reboot.  One of the last few WIndows updates must have tanked this key for security reasons.  Thanks for posting this fix!!    Bluesound should provide a credentialed login to that share but I do not see this in the Bluesound app.

Hi Joe - many thanks for your solution, which worked a treat.

So ends weeks of frustration and I suppose we can only fear the next dreaded Microsoft "enhancement".

In the meantime, kudos to you.

    Cheers!

My major problem with this was that I could no longer use Foobar2000 to adjust CD metadata imported into my Vault.  Also, I prefer to download digital (flac/96 or 192) files to my PC and then copy them to the Vault 2-i.  I went to the Microsoft Community (https://answers.microsoft.com) and entered this search

"Insecure Guest Logins"      which brought up several posts, but this was the first

    [There were two fixes given]

    1. Enable Insecure Guest Logins via Group Policy:

    2. Enable Insecure Guest Logins via Registry Editor:

[I used #1 ...via Group Policy and it work like a charm.]
