NAD C658 stuck forever in BluOS upgrade

I have a NAD C658. I went to update the BluOS for the first time in over 3 years and now it’s forever stuck trying to update BluOS. I don’t ever care about the upgrade anymore I just want it to be usable.
Every time I turn it on it goes to BluOS upgrade then hangs. I’ve tried numerous suggested fixes from other threads like unpowering it from the mains and leaving it overnight. It’s a wired Ethernet connection. I’ve tried two different cables and routers and also given it a fixed DHCP reservation from my router. Nothing has worked and it’s unusable because it keeps trying to update.
If I switch the mains off then quickly hold the source buttons after it boots I can get the factory reset menu but have to act fast. I’ve tried all the reset options and nothing works.
Please help as right now I’m left with a very expensive brick and no music.
