NAD M66 - no recording capabilities
BeantwortetHi, I connected the supplied microphone to the USB port via the adapter provided (USB to Microphone Jack) to perform Dirac room correction. After connecting via the Dirac App I get the following message: "M66 was selected to record measurements but has no recording capabilities. Dirac Live requires a microphone connected to the audio device". I tried to use the desktop version of Dirac but got the same kind of message. I don't have the option to set the USB port as a source and using the BluOS as an input source. Please help. Thanks

That is what I meant, connect the microphone to the computer.
Make sure the M66 is updated to the latest firmware.

A few NAD users do frequent here but it’s predominantly Bluesound and Dirac is not available yet on Bluesound hardware and as such us users have little insight.
Best to email NAD Support regarding your NAD M66 support@nadelectronics.com

Another NAD owner here.
I don't know the specifics about the M66 but have used Dirac on an M33 and C658. While I know that these do support USB input for the calibration microphone, I used the input on my laptop running Dirac. The M66 Manual does not state whether the USB input is suitable for Dirac or not.
Perhaps until you hear from back from NAD this might be an option.

Seppi, I'm a first time participant in this support group - I shouldn't probably post my questions here. Thanks for the e-mail address. I'll contact them
Thanks Brian, that's exactly what I did - I downloaded the PC version of Dirac Live, connected the laptop to the M66 and got the same "missing microphone" message. Upon connecting the NAD mic to the laptop I was able to get the measurements, generate the correction file, save them and get them into the M66. Just two problems: the NAD mic doesn't come with a calibration file (no two microphones are identical) and it's really enjoying to use both the phone and the laptop simultaneously. IMO, the problem is with the Dirac module in the M66 - it doesn't communicate with the USB input. Hopefully NAD will solve this without having to ship back the unit (otherwise a great device).

Sorin, I don’t know of a dedicated NAD forum so posting here is fine as there is a lot of overlap with NAD / Bluesound and BluOS. Support don’t visit here at the weekends hence giving you the email contact and hopefully a quicker response, in most cases they do ask to email NAD.

thanks all - got the calibration curve from the link provided by Brian and sent an e-mail to NAD.
