Vault 2i disconnects constantly when adding music
BeantwortetWhen I try to add music to my vault via wifi, it disconnects constantly. What used to take a few minutes to add 10 albums now takes over an hour as I have to add things one at a time to prevent disconnecting or redo things after it disconnects. This hasn't happened previsouly, but now it's like clockwork. It makes me hate my vault 2i and I can't find any information on how to fix or whether this is a bug. Again, only happens when I try to add music to my vault 2i, never get disconnected otherwise. And since my vault is connected by ethernet, this seems extremely strange.

Hi Mat
Sounds like Network Traffic on your home network. Drop us a log file by selecting Settings, Send Support Request in the BluOS App and our Support Crew can help confirm.

Any help with this issue. I tried the troubleshooting from support and after doing those, it's now worse and the vault shuts down when I just add a few songs at a time. Since I'm not getting any error messages when it shuts down, it seems odd to me. I have almost half my storage available, fast wifi, and now a cleared network cache. Still not working and since there is no way to add these in a wired way, this is irritating. Please assist.

I'm having the same issue.

Tony, I’ve already gone back and forth with support and sent two diagnostic files. No joy.
Michael, I use Qobuz a lot for files and recently they’ve added large image files in addition to the small ones. So I thought maybe deleting that huge file will help. So far it has worked as the albums I’ve done that too have not caused the network to drop. I got the idea because band camp files never kicked a connection- it was only when adding Qobuz files. I haven’t tested this thoroughly yet but so far it’s worked. If you don’t use Qobuz this might be irrelevant but thought I should share.

Hi Mat
I see you were working with one of our Level 3 Specialists, Charmain. I see she recommended backing up your VAULT and resetting the network configurations by performing a factory reset after the backup. It looks like you never responded to her after that... I would have recommended the same steps after that.
Please continue to work with our trusted dedicated staff at The Support Crew.

Tony, the issue with my vault appears to be similar to Mat’s except mine not only drops connections while uploading to the Vault’s native share, the Vault also spontaneously restarts. I’ve already backed up and reset to factory defaults with no luck. Just another data point, but any suggestions would be appreciated as at this point the Vault is virtually useless.

Often these issues are as related to the source of the transfer too. As suggested - our Support Crew can best help by reviewing the log files of your VAULT. Please send them one by selecting Settings, Send Support Request in the App.

Tony, I’ve tried the support team, they closed my ticket suggesting I plug the unit into a different surge protector. No disrespect intended, but that isn’t it. The unit is not losing power, it is spontaneously rebooting and only does so when I try and copy music from my backup drive to the internal music share. I’ve since opened another ticket, but the last support attempt really felt like a punt as the ticket was closed without resolution.
I should also note I have a second vault 2i that has no issues performing an identical copy from the same backup drive and computer.

I see your request is still open - please continue to work with John.
Thank you.

Tony,
With respect to all the support folks I've worked with at Bluesound, they have been very friendly, but have a resolution percent of 0. I haven't opened many tickets, but not one time has what I've been advised worked. When I had an issue where my vault wasn't backing up to my connected drive, it was a product issue and never got resolved. So, yes, it was recommended that I perform a factory reset, losing all of my settings (and possibly my library), but I chose not to and instead found a workaround that so far, while not ideal, is not causing a crash and will not result in losing my settings or me needing to spend days adding my library back. I know technology is complicated, but I've experienced too many hiccups with my vault 2i that I don't really trust a reset to work or to not delete my library of 35,000+ songs.
