Thank you for your patience. This week we launched The BluOS Controller App 4.8.0 for Android. One of the fixes in it is to resolve a timing issue when receiving information from the Players about available content. If problems persist after loading this newer version of the App, please e-mail us at support@bluesound.com so our Support Crew can troubleshoot further.

We do apologise for the inconvenience.

I did send through a support request as you described. Good tip on having a current back up!

I noticed this morning that the cds I am receiving this error message on have the 3 vertical dots on them..so I seem to be able to play the full cd that way where those dots appear

I have this problem with certain pieces of music - I think I have narrowed it down to where there are special characters in the meta data. So it tends to happen with classical music, with accented letters.

Glad you are having some luck narrowing it down. My issues are with more traditional artists…Dave Brubeck, or a cd called “Jazz for a Rainy Day”. While one Nora Jones Christmas cd that coded as Japanese, loads the song titles in Kanji.

A customer service agent responded to my ticket that they were able to replicate the issue, and passed it to developers. Fingers crossed a fix finds its way into an upcoming update

I first encountered the Couldn't Load Content error in September, submitted a support request at the time and was also told that the technical team had been able to replicate the issue.  I did ask later if there was anything about my phone, OS version or data that was known to trigger the error but they were unable to help.  I installed BluOS 4.8.7 and iOS app 4.8.0 a couple of days ago and the problem is still there.  Fortunately, I can open every album using Folder view for some reason, the Windows version of the Controller doesn't suffer from the error at all (although driving a streamer from a PC is not exactly cool) and the iOS freeware app "BluOS NAD" is problem-free too.

I would happily edit my tags if someone could tell me which rogue characters were causing this, but I can't imagine the problem is that simple.

    Hi Peter

Based on our findings we have reported to our Product Development team that if AlbumArtist tags are not matching throughout the album, consumers are seeing this since we moved towards a server driven UI earlier this year.

Make sure your AlbumArtist tags match throughout an album then rebuild your index from the Diagnostics page.

I've checked several of my albums that are returning this error and the AlbumArtist tag for each is identical on all tracks.

I assume "Couldn't load content" is one of those catch-all error messages that could be triggered by anything that prevents or delays a successful read of a music file on the source or its index on the player, in which case there could be lots of different bugs that need to be isolated.  Good luck with that.

If you still think this is a data problem rather than, say, some sort of latency issue, I could easily send you some of my files to use for testing.
