USB output lost

I've used my Node N130 with USB output to a Musical Fidelity M6s dac since I bought it, with no issues. However after briefly unplugging the ethernet cable to test another device, I lost all output from the Node on all channels. A factory reset was needed to restore output, which was annoying enough, but the Node no longer sees the external dac via USB, so I can't select it as the output destination. Trying different USB cables makes no difference. I have other devices using the coax and optical inputs on the DAC so I need USB output from the Node. What can I do?

Do you think I should reconnect to the dac before I power it up again or after?
