Low TV volume via HDMI Arc compared to other sources, eg. Spotify, Turntable
BeantwortetI’ve found a few threads on this but no real solution, wondering if any updates have been made?
Just got a Node, I’m running it into an Audiolab 6000a amp.
If I set the amp to -40db or so, all my sources (Turntable + Cassette deck) play at a good level for a small living room, including direct from the Node when streaming Spotify. They’re all roughly the same +/- 5db on the amp.
However, I just tried connecting my Samsung tv to the node via HDMI (then optical out from Node to the amp) and the TV volume is basically silent at -40db. I have to crank it up to around -15db or so to get a good level. This means that if I’m switching back to Spotify or another source on the amp, the volume is ear shatteringly loud if I forget to turn it down.
Am I missing something in TV settings, or Bluesound App settings to be able to get the TV to play at a similar level to the other sources without cranking the amp too much? Is this considered normal and a known limitation, or is there a fix somehow?

Hi Michael
This has to do with the source volume output. Television audio is mixed very differently than music playback when creating content. Please see this Help Centre Article for more details; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/8112483797655
Consider creating Presets for your different sources and set default volume levels there.
