how to play songs from a USB-A hard drive...
BeantwortetI have a USB-A hard drive connected to my brand-new Node, but I am not sure how to access it with the iOS app.

The support document isn't helpful with respect to the Node (3rd gen). The document indicates to plug in the drive and "follow the onscreen prompts." There are no onscreen prompts in the iOS app when I plug in the USB drive, and the light on the Node stays blue (doesn't turn white). But the Node is aware that a USB drive has been connected, because I get a notification in the app when I disconnect the USB drive from the Node.
I also get a message "Connect to Player" on my iPhone, even though the controller app is clearly connected to the Node. The message says, "Go to WiFi & select your player," but no hotspots show up in the iPhone settings WiFi screen.
Is this Node defective? If so, I'm going to return it.

I used a memory stick formatted to FAT32. The Node recognized it once I turned USB Server Mode to OFF (I don't need Server Mode) and found the files on the USB stick. So the USB port is working.
Next, I left USB Server Mode to OFF and plugged in the USB hard drive. This is a Western Digital MyPassport 2TB drive, formatted to NTFS. The Node didn't seem to recognize it when I plugged it in, but it did pop up a message in the app when I unplugged the drive.

Actually, I checked back several hours later, and now the USB hard drive shows up on the home page, and everything works. I'm shrugging my shoulders--why does this drive show up now in Node but not before now?
