Subwoofer Volume

Hi,
I have read several threads about connecting a subwoofer to the node 2 and I still don't understand how to control the volume. How do you increase the sub volume when increasing the volume to the other speakers? Do you have to set the system that is powering the main speakers to a fixed volume and control the overall volume from the node?
It seems like it would be very easy to mess up the alignment with that setup and I would prefer to control volume from the master controller but I can't see how I could make that work.

The subwoofer does not have an independent volume control. It is adjusted in line with your main output. If you are using fixed output and want to control volume using the amplifier, you should be connecting your subwoofer to the amplifier.
