PROBLEM WITH MY WINDOWS CONTROLLER (update 2/26/2024)
BeantwortetWell I seem to be having a problem with my windows controller. Had just finished adding some music to the system. Started a Re-Index and for some reason lost the connection (never happened before). Rebooted the desktop (Windows 10) and now I can only see one of my six players (not the Vault). Reloaded the Windows controller off the Blue Sound download page and did not fix the problem. The computer seems to be working correctly, can connect to the internet, get my e-mails, etc... I can see and connect to all the players with my IPad using the Wi-Fi. Has anyone had this problem and if yes how did you fix it?
2/26/2024 - 9:30am: Did some more checking with my windows desktop computer...as far as I can tell the internet connection seems to be working fine (can get to all the internet sites that I normally use). Can access my printer ok. I can also access the music files in the Vault 2 through my desktop (that's how I add music to the system, I rip them on my desktop using Windows Media player to my Music folder on the computer, edit the "tags" with MP3 Tag then click and drag the album to the proper artist folder on the Vault's music folder). I really do not know much about networking (private or public) but if there is anything that has changed I do not see anything that is caused by it or how it would of got changed. My wife's desktop computer (LAN connection) seems to be working normally also along with our IPads (which use the wi-fi for access to the internet). So I am at a loss...Have sent an e-mail to Bluesound Support asking for a call back so hopefully someone will call and help me figure out what is causing this.
9:47am: Just tried to open the controller again..still does not see any players....Question: First when I set up my Bluesound system a few years ago and when I did have a couple connection issues with the Wi-Fi connections I always used my IPad to fix it, add a new player or that for whatever reason re-add a player was lost.....to my question....when I open the controller and it does not see any players (again I have never used my desktop computer for doing this) I cannot see anyway to "add" a player like I can see with my IPad.....is that normal for the Windows Controller?
thanks

Since all players are visible from the iOS devices, it's likely a glitch with the Windows device. First thing to check is if it is on the same network as the BluOS devices. Some routers create separate networks with differing SSID's and it is possible that the Windows device has joined another network, either wired or wireless.

Hi, I'm using the macos controller but I hit the same problem after an update. Could not get my devices recognized by the system until I reset them (and re-configured everything from scratch). Note: still using v3.20.5.

I suspect it is the same thing as a power failure. I had to re-add the library and rebuild the index. I had to reset (i.e. unplug) each player and I had to reset my C368 to defaults (fortunately I keep a copy of what settings I have). Power failures are always a major problem. And if you have Sirius you have to re-log in. There are a number of different threads on this but the reality is you need to restart/reboot with a clean slate. Good luck.

When you say a glitch with the "windows device" do you mean my desktop computer? I only have the one cable modem.....and a wi-fi extender in the middle of the house....The computer seems to be working fine....I did download the desktop windows controller again and now (on my computer) the controller does not see any players at all now..... And again I can see and use all the players with my IPad.... I can also see all the music files in the Vault 2 through the modem (desktop computer is connected via a LAN cable...the Vault 2 is also connected with a LAN cable to the modem)

Reading the edits to your first post, I'm sorry to hear the problem persists. I'm just a Bluesound customer like you (9+ years now), though I have a modicum understanding about computers and networks.
I still suspect your router is the source of the issue and that 2 networks are in use, one wired and the other wireless. Hence your desktop computers and Vault (wired) are on one network and the Bluesound players on another (wireless) which are not communicating with each other so the desktop computer does not 'see' the players.
Bluesound support should be able to sort this out for you. In the meantime you may want to look at the router/modem manual and make sure that the wired and wireless networks share the same SSID. It may require re-booting your modem, the manual should explain how to do this from your desktop computer.
