Two versions of same cd Vault 2i
BeantwortetI just bought and anniversary version of a cd. It has two discs, original version on disc 2 and remastered version on disc 1. I have ripped them both with the Vault 2i and what happens is that Vault merges them together and updates the songs in the disc 1 folder. Is there a way that I could avoid this from happening?

Use a tageditor like mp3tag (free) to access the tracks on your vault and add "CD1" and "CD2" or such to the albumtag of the corresponding CD.

Yes I could do that if the Vault would rip two individual tracks of each song but after ripping the first CD it just writes over the existing songs while ripping CD2. I've tried now twice and this happens each time. Only the bonus song that is only on CD1 stays unchanged. Just to be clear both CDs have same titles except for the bonus track on the CD1, but the versions are different.

Rip just CD1, then using a tag editor append CD1 onto the directory name and the album ID tag.
Now run a “Rebuild Index” this will purge your library and reindex, CD1 will now be listed.
Then rip CD2, this will now be in a separate folder and not overwrite CD1
Edit the Albums tags of CD2 and folder name like you did CD1 to make it unique
Run another rebuild index.
Hopefully you will now have two CDs listed.
In case like this I normally just use a computer to rip the CD, edit the tags and then copy across to the VAULT.

That will probably work. I will try that. Thanks.

Using DISCNUMBER is better - you don't get pollution of the album name field that way. Use a tag editor to set the discnumber for each track to "1" or "2".
Even more ideally, if BluOS supported it, you could use the more canonical fields like
DISCSUBTITLE
orTSST

Good point Dan, I was concentrating on the VAULT ripping without overwriting the first rip.
