My garage n330 just started doing this exact issue last week. Very frustrating as I just recently replaced a different n330 that was powering my front porch speakers cause of a constant hiss being sent to both speakers. Is this a software issue or a hardware issue? Do I need to send this other n330 in for repair/replacement, as well?

After waiting in vain for a software fix from Bluesound (the only advice I got from support) I handed in my unit for repair in July. It was still eligible for Hifiklubben's 3-year warranty and was sent to the Dali repair centre in Nørager, Denmark. I got it back a few days ago and according to the repair slip the sub-out component was replaced, so definitely a hardware fix. Everything is working out so far, and no rumbling after waking the unit from sleep etc. So for those waiting for a software fix, don't hesitate to talk directly to your dealer about the problem.

Strange that Bluesound is saying this is a software issue. I had this little over 2 years ago and Bluesound after a lot of diagnosing said that the subwoofer output port was not working correctly and that i could get a replacement from the supplier (hifi klubben). (see also this topic : support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/10577080933271-Powernode-N330-subwoofer-noise)
I did that and all worked fine for a year and a half, and now the humming sound is back again.

So what will happen @Bluesound? Do i need to replace the powernode again or is it a software issue which in my opinion takes way to long to solve.

My solution was simple. Had N330 repaired under warranty. Sold it and saved up some money and bought a Lyngdorf TDAI1120. No Bluesound problems ever since

So Jordy, did you get the entire unit replaced or just the subwoofer component? It it was the unit, it seems about right as the problems only appeared after more than a year of use. But I was hoping a component replacement would fix this permanently.

BS Support categorically claimed that my issue (subwoofer thud when input changes and when listening to playlists with tracks of different resolutions) was NOT down to a h/w issue but a software one. Including a statement that said their guys were able to reproduce this issue and a firmware fix would resolve it. They even said that changing my unit wouldn't resolve the issue; at the time my unit was in-warranty so I decided not to bother investigating this further from a hardware perspective.

I'm about a year on since this exchange and whilst there have been several firmware updates since, none resolve this 'thud' issue. The listening experience is simply ruined as a result. I expect their resources have gone into producing their latest products which they've been showcasing and existing customers get scraps of their attention.

    Hi All

Not all SUB-WOOFER issues are the same. BluOS 3.18.x included timing issues to reduce. As suggested at the top of this thread, please check your cable. To properly diagnose it is always best to troubleshoot individually. Our Supprt Crew is standing by, please contact them by selecting Settings, Send Support Request from the home page of the app so they may review your log files. Please include the make and model of your subwoofer and how it is connected.

    Hi Tony,

There you are. Cables have been swapped/tested time and time again for this issue.

I'll send a SR and log files as suggested.

PS: Support requests are raised via Help on the Windows Desktop app.

    Hi MB5000

You should have received a Request Receipt in your e-mail (if you don't see it, check your junk mail). Our expectations are stated in that receipt but generally, our Support Crew endeavours to reach out within 1 business day via e-mail.

Is there a solution. I have the powernode n330. With the dali sub and i have a cable connection. Is there a software update? Or downgrade because the problem is from the past view months

@Remco Do you use Roon by any chance? That's where the issue exists mostly for me. Upsampling via MUSE seems to correct the thud issue between tracks of differing sample rates. But the issue of input change and startup thuds is still prevalent.

I was toying with the idea of picking up the KEF KC62 to replace my budget sub but not if the issue doesn't isn't resolved.

No I do not use Roon. Never heard of it😅

I read a lot on internet the problem is the n330 and not the cable or sub

@Remco The N330 is advertised as Roon Ready (Roon is a music streaming/library app) and it works well with it. The exception being the sub issue discussed in this thread. Expect the boiler plate response from BS Support (check cable etc) but this issue plagueing an otherwise commendable device is well documented in forums.

But should there be a solutions for it? From blue sound because it is in the n330?

Hi Remco - as suggested earlier in this thread; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/18832317878423/comments/26642277971863

    Tony,

It has been over 10 months now and I still have this problem.  I've seen earlier in the thread that this may be a hardware issue.  Should I open a ticket again for a HW issue?  This is very frustrating.

    Thank you,

    Jason

I had a contact with bluesound and they gave me a bunch of tips. Nothing helped. For me. It is really frustrating. What can we do. I tested the sub to my old marantz and no problem at all. It is definatly the n330

  • mb5000

@JasonStartt If this is a hardware issue, then BlueSound are burying their head hoping people will simply move on. Else, it's surely a recall? If there's a software fix (as they insist) then we need a time frame for said fix. @Tony, please could you comment

Edit: If a hardware fix is the solution and BS offer to resolve this issue, I sincerely hope they show some solace for those that reported the issue before their units fell out of warranty.

    Hi there
I now have the same issue. Started with rumbling sound when turning on or switching inputs. Last night it just turned on randomly in the middle of the night and sub woofer started rumbling waking me up. I would appreciate being updated on fix. I’ve sent diagnostics but the issue is getting worse and so far no luck.

I have the same problems. The subwoofer starts rumbling randomly even when the powernode is not playing music. Even in the midle of the night the sub woofer started rumbling and waked me up.
