Qobuz search function after 4.0 update
I recently updated to the 4.0 controller app on my MacBook Air (M1) and have lost the Qobuz search window/function. Attached is a screenshot with the sum total of what I see when accessing Qobuz via BlueSound 4.0.
I can get to the familiar details of playlists/songs/albums if I access a particular artist via previous searches, but can't find any way to initiate a new search by artist or album.

The search function has moved. I'm not pleased with this change either. First select the source you need to search then enter search criteria in the search field.

I have exactly the same problem and see the same screen when wanting to search Qobuz using BluOS 4.0 in a Windows environment. Additionally, when I select a new album from the displayed image, the tracklist loads and the playing indicator line activates, but no input arrives at my amp. BluSound support acknowledge the problems but so far are unable to advise how to fix them. I'm astonished that the long delay in releasing the 4.0 version wasn't enough to solve providing basic user requirements that worked fine in the previous version. Suggest reverting to the previous version of the OS until 4.0 actually works, rather than treating the BluSound community as crash test dummies.

Great! That worked. Thanks Brian! It's a really strange interface especially since it is replacing a direct search tab within the subject app. There are many things in the BS interface that are perplexing, so maybe this change is to make something simple, more perplexing? ! Anyway, glad to know.

I agree. I prefer UI's which provide contextual search, direct manipulation of elements and clear way finding markers. This could be argued as just my personal preference however.
There is an element of acclimation to any UI, we get used to and adapt our behaviour to how these apps function, when there's a change it can be confusing. There is some good in 4.0 but much to be irritated about as well. e.g. Operations that took one click now take several, a step in the wrong direction IMO.

Thanks Brian. Excellent that it worked for Eva but it doesn't work for me - perhaps because I'm in a Windows 10 environment? When I select Qobuz I get the same screen shown in Eva's top email but can't get the subsidiary search option you show. When I try to use the greyed out search area at the top left hand side I leave Qobuz altogether. Erk.

Updating for the sake of updating, totally stupid, the curse of modern software.

John,
From the beginning, are you choosing Qobuz from the drop-down menu directly under the greyed out search area in the upper left corner of the screen, or are you choosing Qobuz from further down the list (about mid-page left-hand column?) You want the former, not the latter. If you are already doing this, it does sound like something more complicated is going on for you. I only ask because it took me a few tries to understand exactly what Brian's photo is showing.
Best of luck!

Thank you for your help, I have gone back to a previous version of the controller, there doesn't appear to be any good reason to change the search function. The new method is not more intuitive, it is not better, it serves no purpose or benefit.

Thank you very much for this follow up guidance. You are right, I was selecting Qobuz from further down the list on the fairly obvious basis that it was the only place where the word appeared. Yesterday however, a comment in another part of the community forum helped me to find the drop down Qobuz option (I didn't understand how he'd generated the image in Brian's photo either) and I am now - finally - up and running. The other issue I had was caused simply by me not realising that the new version was opening with volume at zero, so that's fixed too, and I'm a happy listener again after a long gap.
I'm still conscious of how welcome your advice would have been if I hadn't stumbled on the fix yesterday, so thank you again.
Main lesson for me- don't trust and certainly don't load BluOS updates until others have proven that they aren't as bug infested or unnecessarily complex as this one is.
