Software update on Amazon Fire tablet
BeantwortetHas anyone successfully installed the new BluOS 4.0 software update on their Amazon Fire tablet? I have updated on my iPhone and this works perfectly but my Fire tablet shows no difference from the 'old' software screen format except the play queue that now only shows last played track (so things are slightly worse). Any ideas or is this update still waiting to be rolled out to Amazon fire tablets? Thanks

Thank you all for your patience.
In speaking with our Quality Assurance Team and Business Development Team, due to changes and limitations in the Android operating system and requirements of the Android Kindle Fire not being able to run in HotSpot Mode, we can no longer compile or release a working BluOS App beyond the currently available BluOS 3.14 available in the Kindle Store.
Though the current 3.14 App will provide regular basic functionality such as Music Search and Browse along with Play/Pause, Playlist editing and Grouping, regrettably, we will not be able to add new features or Music Services nor the new 4.0 User Interface.
We do apologise for the inconvenience and short notice.

I've installed BluOS 4.0.2 and have noticed no difference in appearance or functionality.

Hi Anthony
We apologise for the undue delay in getting the BluOS App 4.0.2 out to the Amazon Kindle Store. Look for it there in the coming day or two.

"... we can no longer compile or release a working BluOS App..."
@Tony W.
Does that mean that Bluesound will no longer offer a BluOS controller app for Amazon Kindle/Fire devices?

@Tony W.
Where can I obtain the BluOS 3.14 app for the Amazon device I just bought specifically to serve as a BluOS controller?
If Bluesound does not intend to make a BluOS app available for Amazon devices, then please remove the Amazon app download listing currently displayed on Bluesound websites (i.e. https://bluos.net/downloads/ and https://www.bluesound.com/downloads/). This will save others the expense and inconvenience of mistakenly buying an Amazon device for this purpose.

@Tony W So there is no version of the bluos controller app available on the Amazon app store whatsoever?

Android makes up 71% of the global mobile operating systems and the Amazon Fire tablet controls the Lions share of that at 33%. Not a priority

BlueSound - is there still no update on this. As previously stated, Amazon makes up a considerable part of the pad market. Is there no workaround you can try to offer, no 3rd party (or BlueOS oem's) external usb dongle which could compensate for the hotspot functionality, or can you not utilise Bluetooth instead?
Could an Amazon Echo not be connected to the Amp / player and act as the conduit between Amazon pad and the amp?0
