Node and TV

Hey ! 

Do I need the hdmi Arc to control the Node from my tv ?

I read this here and found it weird :

:TV remote is programmed into 2i for power button (Analog Input 1), volume and mute.  Power the TV on and it selects Analog Input 1 - all is good"

What do you think ? 2i or 2021 ? Ced
